Packaging Yield and Reject Rate Calculator

Calculate accepted good-unit yield and reject rate from total units processed and good units accepted. Yield = good / total; reject rate = 1 - yield. Use whole unit counts measured at the same process boundary; the result is not first-pass yield when rework or repeated passes are included inconsistently.

Example values are prefilled to demonstrate the calculation. Replace them with values for your product, package, equipment, and operating conditions.

Inputs

Processed and accepted units

Range: at least 0 count

Enter a positive whole-unit count for the selected process boundary.

Range: at least 0 count

Enter the whole-unit count accepted as good within the same boundary; it cannot exceed total processed.

Result

Valid
Reject rate (0–1)
0.02
Good-unit yield (0–1)
0.98
Yield definition and limitation
Yield = accepted good units ÷ total processed units for the entered process boundary. This is not automatically first-pass yield when rework or repeated passes are counted inconsistently; keep product, time window, and boundary consistent.
