Packaging Order Run Time Calculator

Estimate net productive run time from a whole-number order quantity and a measured sustained good-output rate. Formula: run minutes = required good units / sustained good units per minute; run hours = run minutes / 60. Quantity and rate must refer to the same package or product scope. This is a planning estimate, not a packaging-machinery safety or compliance calculation. Excludes changeovers, planned breaks, downtime, ramp-up, and startup scrap.

Example values are prefilled to demonstrate the calculation. Replace them with values for your product, package, equipment, and operating conditions.

Inputs

Order and machine rate

Range: at least 0 count

Enter a whole number of saleable packages or units. Use the same unit scope as the measured rate, such as packages with packages/min. This is an example only; enter the actual order size for this job.

Range: at least 0

Enter a positive sustained good-output rate in good packages or units per minute, not nameplate speed. Use a representative run and the same unit scope as the order quantity. This is an example only; replace it with the measured rate for this product, format, equipment, and operating conditions.

Estimate scope
Net productive time is order quantity ÷ measured sustained good output. This is not total scheduled time: add changeovers, breaks, planned downtime, ramp-up, and startup scrap separately. Do not apply yield/OEE again to a rate already measured as good saleable output.
