Packaging Case Cube Calculator

Calculate rectangular case volume in cubic inches and cubic feet. Formula: case cube = length × width × height; cubic feet = cubic inches / 1,728. Use inside dimensions for usable product capacity or outside dimensions for occupied storage/freight space; keep all three dimensions on the same basis. Unit conversion reference: NIST Guide to the SI, Appendix B, https://www.nist.gov/pml/special-publication-811/nist-guide-si-appendix-b-conversion-factors.

Example values are prefilled to demonstrate the calculation. Replace them with values for your product, package, equipment, and operating conditions.

Inputs

Rectangular case dimensions

Range: at least 0 in

Enter case length in inches. Use either all inside dimensions or all outside dimensions, depending on whether you need usable capacity or occupied space.

Range: at least 0 in

Enter case width in inches using the same inside/outside measurement basis as length and height.

Range: at least 0 in

Enter case height in inches using the same inside/outside measurement basis as length and width.

Result

Valid
Case cube (cubic feet)
1.2500 ft³
Case volume (cubic inches)
2,160.00 in³
Volume basis and limitations
Use either all inside dimensions for usable product capacity or all outside dimensions for occupied storage/freight space. This rectangular bounding volume does not account for wall thickness, irregular shape, air gaps, dimensional-weight rules, or carrier rounding.
