Shift Good Output Calculator

Estimate whole good packages/units for a scheduled production window from an ideal/nameplate good-unit rate, planned production hours, and a user-supplied OEE fraction. Formula: theoretical units = ideal rate × planned minutes; OEE-adjusted rate = ideal rate × OEE; estimated whole good units = floor(theoretical units × OEE). The rate, time, and OEE must use the same product/package scope and observation basis. Do not apply OEE to a rate that is already measured as sustained good output.

Example values are prefilled to demonstrate the calculation. Replace them with values for your product, package, equipment, and operating conditions.

Inputs

Machine and shift

Range: at least 0 units/min

Enter the theoretical package/unit rate before availability, speed, and quality losses. This is not a saleable-good rate. Use the same package definition as the shift quantity. This is an example only; replace it with the specified theoretical rate for this machine and format.

Range: at least 0 hours

Enter planned production hours for this estimate. Exclude breaks and periods not planned for production; include planned production time exposed to OEE losses. Zero hours is valid and returns zero production.

Range: 0–1 0–1

Enter the OEE fraction as a decimal from 0 to 1 (80% = 0.80). Use measured or locally approved OEE for this same product, line, and period; The prefilled OEE is an example only, not a benchmark. Do not apply it again if the input rate is already a sustained good-output rate.

Result

Estimated whole good packages/units
38,400 units
OEE-adjusted good-output rate
80.00 units/min
Theoretical packages before OEE losses
48,000.0 units
Valid
Estimate scope
OEE is user supplied and must match the same line, product/package scope, and planned-production-time basis. The estimate applies OEE once to theoretical units, then floors to whole packages. Zero planned hours returns zero output. Time outside the entered planned production window is excluded.
