Stretch Film Pallet Coverage and Cost Calculator

Estimate usable stretch-film footage per roll, whole pallets covered per roll, rolls to purchase, and roll material cost from user-measured or supplier-confirmed footage per pallet. Formula: usable roll ft = nominal roll ft × (1 - unusable footage fraction); whole pallets/roll = floor(usable roll ft / film ft per pallet); rolls = ceiling(job pallets / whole pallets per roll). Assumes each roll must cover at least one complete pallet. No wrap pattern or pre-stretch rate is assumed. Reference example: Packaging.webtech360 Stretch Film Usage Calculator, https://packaging.webtech360.com/tools/stretch-film-calculator/.

Example values are prefilled to demonstrate the calculation. Replace them with values for your product, package, equipment, and operating conditions.

Inputs

Measured consumption, roll, and job

Range: at least 0 ft/pallet

Enter net film footage consumed per pallet from a measured wrap or verified supplier estimate, before the separate unusable-roll allowance.

Range: at least 0 ft/roll

Enter nominal roll web footage in feet from the supplier specification.

Range: 0–1 0–1

Enter the fraction of nominal footage unavailable to the wrapping job due to tail, breakage, or another measured loss. The prefilled value is illustrative only, not a site measurement or industry benchmark; replace it with data for the selected scope.

Range: at least 0 count

Enter the positive whole-number pallet quantity for this wrapping job.

Range: at least 0 USD/roll

Enter purchase price in USD per roll.

Estimate basis and exclusions
Uses measured net film feet per pallet and the entered nominal footage and unusable-roll fraction; the loss allowance is applied once. Rolls are purchased as whole rolls, with at least one whole pallet per usable roll. Roll price is material purchase cost only. Does not estimate wrap pattern, prestretch, containment force, supplier variance, partial-roll inventory, freight, or tax.
