Labels per Roll Calculator

Estimate whole labels on a roll from nominal liner length, unusable footage fraction, and applicator repeat pitch. Formula: usable length = nominal roll ft × 12 × (1 - loss fraction); whole labels = floor(usable length / repeat pitch). Repeat pitch must include the gap/liner advance required by the applicator.

Example values are prefilled to demonstrate the calculation. Replace them with values for your product, package, equipment, and operating conditions.

Inputs

Roll and label pitch

Range: at least 0 ft

Enter nominal liner/web length in feet from the roll specification.

Range: at least 0 in/label

Enter applicator pitch in inches per label, including the gap or liner advance between successive labels.

Range: 0–1 0–1

Enter measured/estimated unusable roll fraction from 0 to 1. The prefilled loss is an example only, not a standard loss rate; 1 means all footage is unusable and returns zero labels.
