Rectangular Cases per Pallet Calculator

Estimate cases per layer and cases per pallet for two regular, single-orientation rectangular grid layouts using exterior case and pallet dimensions. Formula: cases/layer = the larger of floor(pallet length/case length) × floor(pallet width/case width), or the same grid with the case rotated 90°; layers = floor((maximum total load height including pallet - pallet height)/case height). This does not evaluate mixed-orientation patterns, overhang, load stability, compression strength, or shipping restrictions.

Example values are prefilled to demonstrate the calculation. Replace them with values for your product, package, equipment, and operating conditions.

Inputs

Pallet, case, and height dimensions

Range: at least 0 in

Enter exterior deck length in inches. Use exterior case dimensions so the estimate represents occupied pallet space.

Range: at least 0 in

Enter exterior deck width in inches using the same orientation and units as deck length.

Range: at least 0 in

Enter the pallet height in inches; this is subtracted from the maximum total load height.

Range: at least 0 in

Enter the maximum permitted height of the loaded pallet, including the pallet itself.

Range: at least 0 in

Enter the case's exterior footprint length in inches.

Range: at least 0 in

Enter the case's exterior footprint width in inches.

Range: at least 0 in

Enter the case's exterior height in inches.
