Packaging Line OEE Calculator

Calculate a three-factor packaging-line OEE estimate from one consistent work unit, product/package definition, and measurement window. Availability = operating time / planned production time; performance = ideal cycle time × total units / operating time; quality = good units / total units; OEE = availability × performance × quality. Performance and OEE are not capped at 100%; values above 100% require review of ideal cycle and time/count scope. Based on the common OEE convention described by Siemens; this is not a conformance report to ISO 22400-2:2014.

Example values are prefilled to demonstrate the calculation. Replace them with values for your product, package, equipment, and operating conditions.

Inputs

Time, ideal cycle, and production counts

Range: at least 0 min

Enter minutes scheduled for production for one line/work unit and measurement period. Exclude breaks or periods never planned for production. Use the same interval as downtime and both production counts; The prefilled value is illustrative only, not a site measurement or industry benchmark; replace it with data for the selected scope.

Range: at least 0 min

Enter downtime minutes occurring within planned production time. Do not include periods already excluded from planned production time. Must not exceed the planned window.

Range: at least 0 sec/unit

Enter the validated ideal cycle time in seconds per package/unit for the same product, package format, and work unit. Use an engineering/validated ideal rate, not an observed average. The prefilled value is illustrative only, not a site measurement or industry benchmark; replace it with data for the selected scope.

Range: at least 0 count

Enter the whole number of total packages/units produced in the same planned-time interval, including units that did not meet the good-unit definition.

Range: at least 0 count

Enter the whole number of saleable/good packages under the site's quality rule. Must be no greater than total units produced.

OEE basis and limitations
Use one line/work unit, product/package definition, and time window for every input. Planned time excludes periods never scheduled; downtime is a subset of it. Performance above 100% is shown uncapped and should trigger review.
