Packaging Run Time with Downtime Calculator

Estimate scheduled operating hours needed to obtain a net productive run duration at a user-entered availability fraction. Formula: scheduled hours = net productive hours / availability. Availability must be greater than zero and at most one; this is a simple planning estimate, not a downtime schedule or OEE calculation.

Example values are prefilled to demonstrate the calculation. Replace them with values for your product, package, equipment, and operating conditions.

Inputs

Net run and availability

Range: at least 0 h

Enter productive machine hours required. Zero net hours is a valid zero-demand case.

Range: 0–1 fraction, 0–1

Enter as a fraction from greater than 0 through 1 (for example, 80% = 0.80). This is the expected share of scheduled production hours available for productive running; The prefilled value is illustrative only, not a site measurement or industry benchmark; replace it with data for the selected scope.

This is a planning ratio using the entered productive-availability fraction, not a downtime schedule or OEE calculation. Downtime allowance is the difference between scheduled production time and requested net run time; the estimate does not place downtime events or account for changeovers, shift calendars, holidays, or recovery sequencing.
